Maya - Paws Behind Bars Prison Trained's Story

Maya is currently in the Paws Behind Bars Prison Training Program where she is learning basic commands such as sit, down, stay, door control, leash walking, potty trianing, etc. She is a beautiful, female, Viszla mix who weighs in around 50 pounds and is about 3-4 years of age. She was found wandering in a cemetery and was picked up as a stray and unclaimed. Maya is very friendly, a tad shy at first meeting, but just a sweet personality that wants to please and would make a wonderful companion and walking/hiking/running partner! Maya interacts well with other dogs and her absolutely gorgeous marble-like brown eyes will draw you in! To meet her is to love her! All prospective animals ready for adoption begin with an application filled out by a prospective adopter. Taking into account the animal's specific needs, applications are taken in the order they are received to match appropriate families with the needs of that specific animal. Once an approval is made and the potential adopter contacted, a meet and greet with the entire family and, if possible, includes the adopters current animals as well. If the meet and greet goes well the animal may go home with that potential adopter.
