If you've submitted an inquiry, Island Dog Rescue will review your information and may ask you to fill out an official application. If you're a good fit for Maya, they'll reach out to set up a meeting.

Island Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
After completing our brief online application we will talk with you to learn more about you, your lifestyle and your ideal pet so that we can match you with the perfect dog or cat. We may request a virtual tour of your home or, in some cases, an in person tour. Meet and greets are done with the foster at a location agreed upon. After a successful meet and greet, you can choose to start a trial adoption that will last up to 5 days. After the trial adoption we will either finalize the adoption or return the animal to our foster program. We have a trainer and behavorist that are part of our volunteer team should they be needed to successfully transition your new pet into your home.
