Maya's Story

She is THE happiest girl and is always smiling and has a wonderful disposition. A Sato is a Puerto Rican street dog, known for being incredibly resilient, intelligent, and loyal.

Maya is still adjusting to life in a home and can be timid with new surroundings at first. Everything is still very new and unfamiliar to her, so she is looking for a patient adopter who will let her decompress at her own pace and continue building confidence. Despite being nervous initially, she is already making wonderful progress in foster care and is beginning to play with the other dogs and show her happy personality and loving hanging on the couch and getting cuddles.

She is fully house trained, leash trained, sleeps quietly in her crate all night, and does great crated while her foster is away. Maya responds very well to treats and is eager to learn. She is also wonderful with kids and enjoys other dogs. She can be a little jumpy when excited, so she is currently working on her manners.

Maya is turning into a cuddle bug and learning to relax and trust, underneath it all is a very sweet, happy girl who just needs someone willing to give her time and understanding. Watching shy dogs like Maya blossom is one of the most rewarding experiences, and she is already showing signs of the amazing companion she is going to become. Her foster family is so impressed with her quick progress in adjusting.

Maya is being fostered in Nottingham, MD.

PLEASE READ:

Any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt!

Also, please understand we can not guarantee breed or full grown size of any young dog or puppy.

Thank you for understanding.
