Maximus's Story
Meet Maximus!

Maximus may be small now, but his story shows just how big his spirit truly is. This brave boy was found wandering the streets of the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Desperate for safety, he wandered into a yard with livestock—but sadly, that property was known for harming stray dogs. Thankfully, a local rescue stepped in and reached out to us, and we knew we had to help him. Maximus is here today because he simply refused to give up.

Born around June 15th, Maximus is about 5 months old and currently weighs 28 pounds. We expect him to grow into a sturdy 35 pound adult—the perfect medium size! While his exact breed mix is a mystery, we see hints of Carolina Dog, Potcake, and maybe even Whippet in his look and build.

Maximus is a happy, smart, and playful puppy who gets along well with other dogs and loves to learn. He’s eager to please, quick to pick up on training, and always ready for a game or adventure. His resilient spirit and gentle nature will make him a wonderful addition to any loving home.

Currently in Texas, Maximus will be traveling to Connecticut by the end of the month—ready to start the next chapter of his life with a forever family.

Maximus is a strong name for a pup who has already overcome so much—and he’s waiting to show you just how much love and joy he has to give.

ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE or will be SPAYED OR NEUTERED.

The Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue adoption donation is $620.00. This includes: spay/neuter (at our vet), vaccines (dhpp, bordetella, rabies), microchip, health certificate, fecal test and our dogs are on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworm.

Out of state adopters must also pay for an interstate health certificate to their state.
