Max - IN FOSTER HOME - AVAILABLE TO ADOPT's Story

Who doesn't love a little dog with expressive eyebrows?!

Max is a truly great little dog who is happiest when he’s with his people. Whether you’re heading out for a long walk or settling in on the couch, Max is all in.
He is 100% house trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has successfully handled 2.5-mile walks with his foster. He has nice energy when it’s time to move, but indoors he’s calm and affectionate—often curling up on the furniture, snuggling under a blanket, or resting his head in your lap.

Max is friendly with other dogs and does well in an octagon puppy pen. (He isn’t a fan of a traditional crate, but that hasn’t been an issue since he’s well-behaved in the home.) He has done well with visiting children; for a permanent home, we recommend older kids (12+). Like many small dogs, Max can jump up when excited and will benefit from continued reminders to sit calmly for attention.

A fenced yard is strongly recommended for Max. He’s curious and sees open doors as opportunities for adventure! While this is normal dog behavior, a fenced yard will help keep Max safe and allow him to explore without worry. We are unsure how Max does with cats.

Max is neutered, healthy, and ready to start his new life. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys walks, cuddles, and being part of your daily life, Max may be the perfect match. Apply at redbarnrescue.com to meet him!
