Max (Greyhound)'s Story

Meet Max!

Max is a 1 year old, neutered male, Greyhound mix, weighing in at just over 45 pounds!

Max had a pretty rough start to life. Due to previous neglect, Max was extremely underweight and terribly timid. He's now living in a foster home with two other greyhounds and an incredible foster family who is helping him to come out of his shell. Max is working hard on doing his business outside, but he's not quite there yet. Leashes aren't his favorite things, but once they're on, he walks well without much pulling. Due to his timid nature and ability to climb and run like no other, he needs to be taken out on a leash at all times while he is acclimating to a new space.

Max's fosters report that he is doing good while being crated, as long as he has toys to keep him occupied. He LOVES rubber squeaky toys and hard bones. At night Max is getting the hang of sharing the bed and he's a really good cuddler. He does have a pretty good bark, but seldom uses it to express himself.

Greyhounds have been bred for coursing, racing and hunting. They are known to live at least 10 to 14 years and exhibit a temperament with the following characteristics; intelligent, athletic, affectionate, gentle, quiet and even tempered.

Max, as is true to his breed, is a extremely fast runner. He would benefit from an experienced adopter, with previous rescue and racing breed experience.

Adoption Fee $295

Adoption Radius is within 2 hours of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue.
