Max's Story

Meet Max, y'all! About a year old and already fully grown, Max is an English Bulldog mix. He's made it his personal mission to kiss every human he meets directly on the face (we've tried to talk him out of it; he is undeterred).

The basics: Housetrained. Neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Dog friendly and cat friendly! He's got a real soft spot for his foster-mate adoptable dog Lilac. Ask us about adopting them together for a discount :)

Manners & training: Max is a genuinely easy dog to live with. He knows sit and comes when called, doesn't climb on the furniture, and is kennel trained, though he'd rather just curl up in his dog bed all night. His temperament is kind, good-natured, and about as low-drama as it gets. He loves to rest easy during movie nights at home and run zoomies in the backyard when it's not rainy.

His story: Max came to us with entropion in both lower eyelids, causing irritation and discharge. Good news: he's already had his corrective surgery and is healing beautifully, just finishing up recovery before his final clearance. He also worked through some skin irritation from an allergic flare-up (ruled out ringworm and mange) with medicated baths and a sensitive stomach diet; that's cleared up too and his fur is growing in beautifully. FTAF covered 100% of his medical care, so Max is going home as a healthy, happy dog.

Max would thrive in a home that:

Has another friendly, playful dog around — he does best with a buddy
Wants an affectionate, easygoing dog with great house manners already in place
BONUS: also adopts his best friend Lilac. See our other posts!

Restrictions: None known at this time.

Adoption fee: $190
Location: Greater New Orleans, LA

A note on medical history: Max is being adopted out in good health, fully recovered from his eye surgery. Every FTAF dog has a documented eye-care history as part of our mission, and there's a small chance issues could resurface down the line. We want adopters to know his story going in and feel ready to provide any needed follow-up eye care in the future. FTAF is always here as a resource if that happens.

Ready to meet Max? Heads up: submitting an application doesn't guarantee placement — approved applicants still do a meet-and-greet with Max and his foster before anything's finalized.
