Max's Story

Hi there, I’m Max! I’m a dashing 9-year-old Miniature Schnauzer weighing in at a very distinguished 17 pounds. Sure, I may be a mature guy, but don’t let that fool you — I’ve got the heart of a puppy and enough Schnauzer sass to keep things interesting! I am what the experts call a velcro dog — meaning I want to be with my people. ALL. THE. TIME. I love cuddling up with my human, resting my head on your chest, and I would absolutely love to sleep in your bed if you’d let me. I have the famous Schnauzer stare down to an art form, and I will use it on you. Resistance is futile.

Out and about, I am a total social butterfly! I get super Schnauzer-excited when I see other dogs and people — I simply MUST say hi to everyone I meet, usually with a wiggle butt and maybe a woof woof. I’m good on leash, great in the car when tethered or crated, and I love zooming around the yard (just keep me away from those fruit tree droppings — trust me on this one). I get along great with other dogs and I met a house cat who knows about dogs so I might be ok with cats...no promises though. I’m housebroken, though with all the recent changes in my life, I might need a little refresher — totally understandable, right? I’m also easy to groom and a true gentleman about it.

Now, I do have one little thing to mention — I need to eat a special low-fat diet to keep my pancreatitis in check. It’s just part of who I am, and I eat my food easy-peasy. I’m fully neutered, vetted and up to date on all my vaccinations, so I’m ready to roll! At the end of the day, I’m a laid-back, affectionate, loyal, family-oriented boy who just wants to love and be loved. I demand it, actually.

If you’re looking for a soulful, snuggly, spirited companion who will be your shadow and your best friend, that’s me — I’m your guy!

Apply to adopt me at www.floridacockerrescue.org
ADOPTION FEE: $350
