Max's Story

Hi, my name is Max.

I’m an 11-month-old Rottweiler mix, and I came to the shelter on November 13, 2025. I didn’t arrive in great shape. My skin was in rough condition, and the staff had a veterinarian see me right away to get me the care I needed. I’m feeling much better now.

I weigh about 49 pounds, and even though my start in life hasn’t been easy, I’ve shown the staff that I’m a sweet, tolerant, and easygoing young dog. I allow handling without any issues and take things in stride.

One funny thing about me is that I only seem to understand Spanish. Because of that, and because I came in with limited information, there isn’t much known about my background. We don’t know yet if I’m housebroken or how I do with kids or other animals. What we do know is that I’m still very young and learning, and I’m the kind of dog who will benefit from patience, consistency, and a chance to settle into a real home.

I’ve been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, so there are no geographic adoption restrictions. I’m ready to go home with the right person.

I’ve been here since November 13, 2025, with no interest, which is hard for a young dog who still has so much growing and living to do. I may not have had the best beginning, but I’m hoping my future looks a lot brighter.

If you’re looking for a young dog with a lot of potential and a good heart, I’d love the chance to meet you.
