Max Pug Salt Lake City, UT

Say hello to Max, a 6ish, 21-pound pug with attitude. Now that he has had a dental (12 teeth removed) and been neutered, this slightly stubborn, super clever boy is ready to find his forever home. He understands sit and stay the stay command is still a bit challenging when there’s so much new to explore.

Indoor manners are a work in progress for Max, who has lots of energy and loves to play, play, play with the small dogs in his foster home. Max walks well on a leash and loves to get out for a nice long walk with his humans. During his walks, he has noticed cats and watched them but hasn’t barked at them or tried to chase them. Max has had some crate training but he doesn’t go into his crate willingly – that stubborn streak again.

Max is good about whining and running to the door when he has to go out. In his foster home, he has figured out how to come in using the dog door but hasn’t mastered the going out quite yet. Since he was neutered, his marking has decreased dramatically and should disappear eventually. A belly band in the interim may be helpful.

This little guy would love to cuddle with you but doesn’t seem to know how to go about it. We are looking for a home with a securely fenced backyard and maybe one other small dog for playtime! . High energy, fabulously entertaining, with lots of room for training and improvement, Max would be a great addition to the right family.

Max has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped.
