Hey there, it's me, Max! Some people call me Maximus or Maximillian—I respond to them all! I'm a charming 2-year-old lab mix weighing in at 45 pounds, and I'm on a mission to find my forever home. I was found injured in a ditch in Texas and people just kept passing me by. Thankfully, a nice woman swooped in and saved me! Now I’m here in Michigan with Project Hope looking for my fur-ever family.

When I arrived in Michigan, I didn't waste any time making friends. I quickly bonded with my foster brother, and even won over a shy foster cousin who usually keeps to himself. I'm a real outdoor enthusiast, always on the lookout for squirrels and sometimes reluctant to come back inside.

I'm a smart pup who loves my crate—it's where I sleep peacefully and earn my nightly treats. I'm a quick learner, so I'm up for mastering all the tricks, and I might even make a great service or emotional support dog someday!

I'm a real gentleman when it comes to treats—I take them gently and like to savor them in peace. I can be a bit protective of my food at first, but once I trust you, I'm as generous as can be. I might be shy around kids at first, but give me some time and a gentle approach, and I'll warm up to them, too. I haven’t been around cats, but my friendly nature suggests I’d do very well with them.

I'm a sucker for affection, always offering nibbles to get your attention and finding cozy places to rest my paws.
