Max's Story
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Age: 1 yr.
Weight: 10 lbs.
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unsure
Good with kids: unsure
Energy level: unsure
Good with men/strangers: yes
Hypoallergenic: no

Special home requirements or medical: needs another dog

Additional info:

Max was surrendered to us by an owner who could no longer care for him. He likely spent his whole young life outdoors and was matted, dirty, and flea ridden when we rescued him. As dogs do, he is quick to forgive and simply adores humans. He would also thrive in a home with another confident, kind dog that can show him the ropes of how to "dog". He is working on proper potty training, leash walking, and crate training.

This handsome boy is a sweet, lovable Yorkie that takes his time getting settled into a new space. He is very cuddly, likes to be around his person all the time but can be very easygoing - he relishes laying on the couch taking naps (with you nearby!). Max is still very thin for his frame so we are working on getting him to a healthy weight with proper nutrition and love.
He is a fast learner - his foster taught him to sit very quickly.

Max is getting used to the world outside of his back yard. Loud noises make him jump and tremble. He doesn't like to be left alone in the crate yet and will bark and whine but quiets down if he knows his person is nearby. Once he settles in the crate for the night, he sleeps well for 7-8 hours. He waits patiently until he is released from the crate. He is learning to wait until his human opens the door and he can come out.

With love, patience, and the security of another doggie friend in the home, we know Max will blossom.

If you are not ready to adopt just yet and would like to help in other ways, please consider clicking on the green Sponsor Me button above to help this dog receive the best care we can give.
