Max's Story

The only thing better than one thick, squishy, big-headed Rottie boy is an even thicker, squishy, big-headed Rottie boy! Meet father/son duo: Max and Zeus. We would LOVE to find them a home together. To apply for these two, please email us at pets@michianapets.org. Please take a minute to read about them first...

Max is Zeus's father. Max is eight years old and weighs 101 pounds. Zeus is five years old and weighs 130 pounds. Granted, they each could shed a few pounds but they are stout fellows. Both boys are neutered. And they have amazing manners. They won't eat until being told, "Okay, eat", they know how to sit, stay and they take treats SO gently. They are both amazing at being house-trained.

The ideal adopter for Max and Zeus would be as follows:

Someone who has Rottweiler or XL breed experience. Someone who will take the boys on walkies (they love them!) and help their health improve and give them lots of unconditional love! Someone who understands they are adopting the boys "as is"...

Max's hips are a bit weak, he has a couple lumps and bumps and we are also trying to heal his back leg as he is chewing on it due to his increased kennel stress. Zeus also has lumps and bumps. All of that being said, the boys could have lots of time left but we also don't know what the lumps and bumps actually are, so time could be shorter. These sweet boys are really already struggling in the shelter environment; so getting them into a home is so important.

They have lived with cats before and were uninterested and re-directable when around shelter cats. We'd love for kiddos to be about 12ish and older. Their best dog interactions have been with female dogs. They love to snuggle close and lean in for back rubs. They also love car rides!

Okay, MHS followers, lets share Max and Zeus's post and get them out of the shelter together and living happily forever after in a home.
