Matin Bey

Matin Bey is a very special dog – he’s a Kangal Shepherd/Anatolian Shepherd which is rather a rare dog breed to find on a rescue site because they are rather uncommon and certainly special!<br/><br/>Anatolian shepherds/ Kangal Shepherds are traditional flock guardian dogs, kept with flocks of sheep to fend off wolves and other predators. They will protect their flock, livestock, children, smaller dogs, even the family cat with intensity. They are bred especially to guard goats and sheep. <br/><br/>Matin is an incredibly handsome great big boy who’s about two years old and full grown at over 100 pounds.<br/><br/> He’s gentle as a lamb – in fact, I’ve had him in the same pen with my rescued goats and chickens and he just hangs out with them and is very sweet and completely non-aggressive.<br/><br/>Matin is wonderful with small dogs, kids, and cats. But he’s a very big boy so he might overwhelm small children! He thinks he’s everybody’s papa dog.<br/><br/>His gentle nature makes him even more attractive than his incredible good looks! <br/><br/>Of course, he’s neutered, up-to-date on all his shots, and a perfectly healthy happy lug. <br/><br/>If you’re looking for a special dog Matin would suit you perfectly! He’s wonderful with children as well and super with both men and women. He’s not a barker and is mellow, tolerant, and peaceful.<br/><br/>Despite his beautiful thick coat, Matin is not at all a big shedder.<br/><br/>He likes nothing better than relaxing on his dog bed watching a good Netflix movie with me!<br/><br/>He gets along great with both men and women, and is affectionate, gentle, active, goofy, and sweet.<br/><br/>Of course, Matin is neutered and up to date on all of his shots. He’s wonderfully healthy and I have his medical records for his new forever family.<br/><br/>He's also completely housebroken.<br/><br/>I am a firm believer is having potential adopters take a pup home for a “sleepover” to see how your family, your other pets, and your new best buddy all get along.
