Matilda's Story

Meet Matilda!

At just 1 year old and 7 pounds, Matilda is a tiny bundle of personality wrapped up in one absolutely adorable package. We suspect she's a Yorkie mix, possibly with a little Chinese Crested Powder Puff mixed in-but whatever her breed combination may be, one thing is certain: she's cute as a button.

Matilda's story didn't start out easy. She was found as a stray after being attacked by a large dog, arriving with bite wounds that required multiple surgeries. Thanks to lots of love, veterinary treatment, and time, 95% of her wounds are healed, (one is being left to heal slowly as sutures in this area won't hold). She has been spayed, and she's ready to find the family she has always deserved.

This little lady has plenty of puppy energy and a whole lot of love to give. She enjoys playing, exploring, and then curling up in your lap for a good snuggle session. Being held is one of her favorite things in the world, and she'll happily soak up all the affection you're willing to provide.

Matilda likes to think she's the boss-for approximately five seconds. Once she's made her opinion known, she's usually happy to move on and enjoy life. She gets along well with other small dogs but, given her past experience, large dogs aren't really her thing.

She rides well in the car, does fine in a crate, and walks nicely on a leash. Matilda especially adores women and tends to bond quickly with her favorite people. When you're home, she prefers to be right by your side and may voice her opinion if she's separated from you. Interestingly, she's perfectly content when you're actually away-she just likes to keep tabs on her humans when they're around.

Because of her small size and sensitive nature, Matilda is looking for a home without young children.

If you're searching for a tiny companion with puppy spirit, endless cuddles, and a heart as big as her ears, Matilda may be the perfect addition to your family.

Please apply here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog

Her minimum adoption donation amount is $375. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

We are located in Bloomington, IL
We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state.
Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt.

Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Better yet, help speed up the adoption process by also sending us your vet records, and having your references e-mail us at Deebysrescue@gmail.com

For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm
