Mateo's Story
The biographical information provided is correct to the best of our knowledge while the animal is in our care or includes what may have been provided by a previous owner. We strive to be honest and accurate, but animals can change their personalities and behavior when they settle into a new home. IDR+ makes no guarantees based on the information we observe and provide.

Meet Mateo! Mateo is a 6-month-old Whippet/Italian Greyhound mix with a gentle, sensitive nature. He can be a little shy with new people at first, but he gets a little braver every day as he learns the world isn’t so scary.

Mateo does great with other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident canine companion to help show him the ropes. He’s also been living with cats in his foster home and has been very respectful—he may occasionally try to initiate a playful chase, but overall he’s been gentle with them.

He has a sweet, endearing personality and a fun playful side. Mateo loves batting around his toys and doing the occasional silly pounce. After he’s finished goofing off, he’s happy to curl up on the couch for snuggles and some well-earned pets.

Mateo will need a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and get his zoomies out, as regular leash walks are still a bit too scary for him right now. He is crate trained and doing pretty good with his housetraining skills!

If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle pup and have a confident dog who can help Mateo continue building his confidence, he may be the perfect addition to your home.
