Mary's Story

Meet Mary: A Brilliant Athlete with a Heart of Gold

Mary is a bright, high-energy girl who embodies the very best of the Jack Russell spirit. At just two years old and a nimble 13 pounds, she's a tiny professional athlete (and tug-of-war champion) looking for a dedicated teammate. View her in action!

The Jack Russell Mind: Brains & Purpose

True to her heritage, Mary possesses a sharp, analytical mind that thrives on having a "job" to do. For Mary, training isn't a chore—it's her favorite way to bond. She views every cue and command as a rewarding puzzle to solve.

Work-Hard, Play-Hard Ethos: Her intelligence shines during enrichment; she eagerly tackles complex dog puzzles and displays incredible focus during interactive play.

Training as Connection: She craves mental stimulation and looks for a partner who understands that a 15-minute training session is just as fulfilling as a long run.

The Ultimate Teammate: Because she is so brainy, she flourishes when given clear direction, proving that a busy dog is a happy dog.

Unwavering Loyalty

While she has the drive of a worker, Mary has the soul of a companion. She is a loyal soul who takes her "inner circle" seriously. While she prefers structured, leashed introductions with new faces, once you have earned her trust, you have it for life. Her affection is a reward for the time and structure you invest in her, making the bond incredibly deep and rewarding.

Mary's Ideal Environment

To be her best self, Mary thrives on structure and predictability. She is looking for a home that appreciates the Jack Russell need for order:

A Social Circle: A home with another young, active, and well-socialized dog to help her channel her physical energy into positive play.

Structure & Boundaries: Mary excels in her crate and loves having clear rules. This structure helps her feel secure, confident, and relaxed.

The Right Setting: While she's a city girl, she appreciates a low-traffic environment (a backyard a bonus!) with older children, who can respect her boundaries.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration.
