Marvin's Story

Meet Marvin, a 4-year old English Pointer / Staffy mix weighing about 60 pounds. He is a regal boy with an old soul and his blue eyes will surely melt your heart. He is intelligent, athletic, and loves to play catch in the yard. He has that distinct chocolate Pointer speckled coat and strong athletic body with beautiful long legs. He will be very excited to see you EVERY time he sees you, but will soon calm and be your trusty companion. He is good on leash walks (gets a wee bit jumpy sometimes with enthusiasm), responds well to 'sit' and 'paw', and he is potty trained. He was rescued from Sullivan County, NY where he was found living in a car with his two kids, Marvin and Mocha. They were all undernourished with sores from sharing a cramped space. We rescued them, rehabilitated them and they are more than ready for their forever families. This explains why he just loves his car rides... the humm of the engine, wind on his nose, and closeness to you is all the happiness he needs. Marvin would do well with a family that has space to play or goes on hikes. Marvin is eager and ready to be a part of your family!

The Pointer is the ultimate expression of canine power and grace. They are loyal, hardworking, and even-tempered. Their high-energy makes them an excellent athlete's companion. They carry themselves proudly and are capable of great speed and agility. Their friendly, even temperament, and alert good sense make them a congenial and trainable companion.
