Martha Jane (Hot Pink)'s Story

Meet Martha Jane!

If you're lookin' for a rootin-tootin ride or die, look no further! MJ is named after the infamous frontierswoman Martha Jane Calamity, known for breaking social expectations as a female pioneer and sharpshooter. She'll be the first to tell you this is NOT a man's world: It's hers.

She and her 6 littermates were almost killed at a Texas shelter. They were surrendered without their mother at only 3 weeks old, and had to be bottle-fed every 2 hours around the clock. Their overwhelmed shelter didn't have those resources and were already preparing the puppies for euthanasia, when we walked in 30 minutes after close for a different litter. When they told us about MJ's litter in the back, we couldn't bear the thought of their whole litter being destroyed, and walked out the door with two litters of puppies.

Since MJ was bottle raised, and fostered with children, she is very used to handling and loves all the attention she could get. She's rambunctious, playful, and loves to be doted on. She has a big personality and will find endless ways to entertain you.

She is doing great with housebreaking, is sleeping through the night, and just started crate training. She loves to play with kids and other dogs; she has never met cats but has shown a little too much interest in the foster's chickens.

Her adoption fee includes *all* rounds of puppy vaccines, rabies, her spay, microchip, deworming, and he comes up to date on heartworm prevention. She is available for out of state adoption, so don't let distance discourage you from applying for this go-getter!

To apply for MJ, click the link below...
