MARTEN's Story

Martin (A142416) is a 1-year-old Alaskan Husky that weighed 56lbs at intake! 09/02/26 Martin was surrendered to the shelter because he was just not cut out for the sled dog life and really disliked pulling while in harness. Martin would much prefer the chill life of being a house pet, but he will need some help with house training and working on his manners. Martin is used to living outside, but he is kennel trained and has been brought inside on occasion. He has been known to jump on counters, jump up on people and will sometimes chew on things he shouldn't. His previous owner described him as being very affectionate, but rough when playing. He was said to do well with children and loves to meet new people. Martin was said to play well with female dogs, but it can take him some time to warm up to male dogs. He does have a high prey drive, so a home without cats, small animals or livestock would be preferred. If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, please let us know!
