Marshall's Story

Meet Marshall!

Marshall is an almost 2-year-old Australian Shepherd with a sweet heart, a bright mind, and plenty of love to give. He's the kind of dog who genuinely wants to make his people happy and catches on to new things quickly. If you're looking for a smart companion who enjoys both adventures and downtime, Marshall could be your perfect match.

Marshall absolutely loves affection. Pets, cuddles, and spending time close to his people are some of his favorite things. When he's feeling a little unsure or stressed, he may give you a few licks as his way of seeking reassurance.

Like many young Aussies, Marshall is still learning about personal space and body awareness. He can be a little mouthy in a playful, gentle way, especially if your hands are hanging by your side. He has a very soft mouth and isn't trying to be rough-he's just an enthusiastic youngster who needs continued guidance and training.

Marshall would do best in a home without young children, as his playful style and lack of body awareness could easily knock over little ones. Older, dog-savvy kids who understand how to interact respectfully with dogs would be a great fit.

He's an active boy who would love opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and learning, but he's also happy to settle down and relax with his family after the fun is over. Marshall is wonderful at entertaining himself and is happy to play independently when you're busy. He especially loves tossing around and playing with a ball on his own, making him a great mix of playful and easygoing. He's also shown that he can be independent in other ways-he had no issues spending time upstairs by himself and handled being left when his foster mom stepped out without any problems.

Marshall is looking for a home that will continue building his confidence, celebrate his eagerness to learn, and give him the love and structure he deserves. In return, you'll get a loyal, affectionate best friend who's always ready for the next adventure-or the next cuddle on the couch.

********************************************
************************************************
Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted.
