Marley*'s Story

All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step.

Marley is a beautiful 5-year-old Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix who is just the perfect size—not too big and not too small. She is housebroken, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready to find a family who will love her for exactly who she is. Marley is a special girl who needs a little time to feel comfortable around new people. She is wary of strangers and will bark when someone enters the home, so her ideal family will understand that she needs patience, consistency, and time to warm up. Once Marley bonds with her people, though, she is a loving and devoted companion. ❤ï ̧

Marley has lived with children most of her life and seems to absolutely love them. She would do best as the only pet in the home, with no other dogs or cats. Marley is a playful girl who LOVES her toys. One of her cutest talents is entertaining herself by tossing her toys around and playing catch all by herself! She rides wonderfully in the car and loves going for rides. And is not destructive when left home alone.

Because Marley can be vocal when strangers enter the home, an apartment would not be a good fit. She would do best in a home where her family can give her the space and time she needs to settle in and build trust. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to let her come out of her shell at her own pace, Marley may be the girl you've been waiting for. ❤ï ̧

All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.
The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.
