Meet Mario

Sorry Princess Peach, Mario wants to rescue YOU! This approximately 3-year-old, 25ish pound bundle of joy is thought to be an Aussie mix. According to his fosters, Mario is the perfect blend of active/playful outside and quiet inside.

Mario does well on a schedule; he currently goes on morning and evening walks and gets backyard time to enjoy the great outdoors. The only time Mario is crated is when his fosters leave the house for extended periods of time. He willingly goes in the crate and doesn't seem to have any issues while inside, but he is thrilled to see his people when they return! To nap or sleep, Mario will alternate between the sofa (which the fosters allow) and his bed. He especially likes the sofa when you are there giving him ear scratches, belly rubs, and attention in general.

Just like the video game, Mario collects the real-life version of power coins, shoes! He doesn't chew on them, he just collects them so he will have the continued power reserve to continue his adventure of rescuing YOU!

While Mario is food/treat motivated, he doesn't seem interested in people food. Our great adventurer does not beg! He already knows sit and down and seems to be a fast learner so training should be fun for the whole family. When not training, his favorite activities include chasing balls and frisbees. He would love a home with a fenced yard and older children to play with.

Though Mario can be excitable on walks, especially when there are lots of people and dogs around, every opportunity to greet other dogs through proper introductions results in him showing no aggression, just curiosity and interest.

Mario loves his foster's backyard and playing games! He is interested in birds and rabbits, tries to chase them. He also loves toys and has even taken a stuffed animal on a walk! He is best with hard toys and toys with squeakers — he does tend to tear up fabric toys if not being watched. He doesn't mind when toys are taken away from him.

So, are you ready to be saved by darling Mario? He will make a wonderful companion!
