She is independent and will just relax in her bed away from the action but also loves to follow her humans around the house. She absolutely loves pets and belly rubs- that's when she's the happiest girl. She is so smart and learning commands very quickly such as sit, stay, down, and come. All she wants is to connect with her people and is very eager to learn more! She is fantastic on leash, doesn't pull, and will redirect easily! She likes to stay close and doesn't venture more than 10 or 15ft from you. She loves water and would make a great adventure buddy! She rides great in the car and settles in quickly.<br/><br/> She will get spurts of energy to play with her toys or run around the dog park but otherwise she just lays around the house. She is a sucker for a good walk! She doesn't beg for any food and sits for her breakfast and dinner. She would do best in a home without other dogs and cats, and kids over the age of 10 as she does want to herd them!<br/><br/>Maple is crate trained but really likely doesn't need it- she doesn't destroy anything around the house and has no desire to get onto the furniture. She's easy going, easy to train, low energy, and loving, oh and potty trained too!<br/><br/>She can be reactive on leash, but takes correction very well. She has been to the groomer and vet, and she did great there and was indifferent to other dogs. She will let you do whatever you need to such as look at her paws, teeth, and give her a nice brush. She is very gentle and takes treats from her hand nicely.<br/><br/>Maple is being fostered in Richmond, VA. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of age-appropriate vaccinations and cost of care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dogs age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership.
