Maple's Story

Maple #1037

Age: 2.5 years old

Color & Breed: Brown/White Basset Mix

Gender: Spayed Female

Weight: 39 pounds

Nothing goes with pancakes better than Maple, and Maple #1037 loves pancakes! She doesn’t love the idea of sharing, though, and is looking for a home where she’s the only dog (and the only one enjoying both breakfast treats and the humans she has claimed for herself.)

This little basset mix is 2 ½ years old and road-tripped here from El Paso, Texas. She’d thrive in a home that likes walks and letting her follow her hound nose. Because of her desire to explore, she’d do well in a home with a fenced-in yard or a tie-out. She also put in a request for a forever home where the people will let her sleep in their bed—and share their pillow!

Maple does not enjoy small spaces and is trusted in restricted areas of the house while her foster family is away. She’s fully housetrained and expects rewards for her good-girl behavior with treats and belly rubs.

Add some sweetness to your home by applying for Maple at https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoption

MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. We accept applications from within the following areas: all of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and other applicants within a 8 hour radius of our headquarters in St. Paul, MN.

Minnesota Basset Rescue (MNBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in Minnesota. MNBR rehomes dogs from owners who can no longer provide their care and rescues dogs from local pounds and shelters. As an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue we welcome anyone who loves dogs and wishes to help hounds live a healthy and happy life. Our organization provides safe, loving foster home, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities while working hard to find them a permanent, loving home!
