Meet your new Bestie! Manny<br/><br/>I am such a happy loving little guy for all Ive been through! I jumped right into my foster dads lap I was so excited. <br/><br/>I am a sweet sensitive and goofy pup! I love belly scratches and playing trade off fetch with my 2 favorite toys a dragon and a Frankenstein. I have had a difficult past so am learning what it's like to be a dog in a safe and loving home. <br/><br/>I met a toad for the first time this week and am loving being outside able to run in the grass and smell all the smells! <br/><br/>I am quick to learn new tricks and am treat motivated but I am not a table treat beggar. I know spin, (Clockwise), down, wait and boop. Sit is harder for me I have a long body and a long tail so down is my preferred sit. Down is more comfy for me. I also can respond to hand cues only. <br/><br/>I am super smart and want to please! Puppy energy happy and excited but I also love to be calm and snuggle.<br/><br/>I am working on my leash manners and socialization as I didnt have any of that in my former life. I am easily redirected, curious about new places and new people. Some things startle me but I am able to overcome and move forward very nicely.<br/><br/>I have proven solid with kids 12 and up although I have not met any super young children yet. <br/><br/>I am solid with a confident cat. I just want to play! But they tell me when they have had enough and I listen to them!<br/><br/>I have not been off leash or introduced to other dogs yet as I am healing from my neuter but the early signs are good! I am curious and since I love to play with the cat, my foster mom thinks I would love to have a puppy playmate! All of my body language has been positive thus far on my walks.<br/><br/>I ride shotgun in the car with a seatbelt harness perfectly! I kennel easily and settle down at night after a few woofs. I dont need to be kenneled my fosters have left me loose as long as I only have safe toys to keep me busy. (Certain toys I shred)<br/><br/>When my fosters return home I am usually laying by the door. So far no true separation anxiety.<br/><br/>Squirrels are my favorite! I would probably chase them if I were off leash in a confined area. A fenced yard would be completely ideal for me. I also love to just sit and watch the squirrels play in the trees from the deck. Its kind of my squirrel tv.<br/><br/>I would do fantastic at agility! I have 2 speeds fast and faster!<br/><br/>As soon as my neuter heals my fosters are going to try swimming with me to see if I like the water and riding on the boat.<br/><br/>I do bark a few times at the door or at strange noises or new people coming to visit. This calms down quickly once I know everything is ok. I am not an incessant barker. <br/><br/>I do need chew resistant toys. I love my ball and my kong and my beef cheek chews. My foster mom bought me a flirt stick but that was too scary for me. <br/><br/>I give nice sweet kisses just enough not too much. <br/><br/>I am wary around some men. I LOVE my foster uncle, dad and the grandpa neighbor who gives me treats. I present as nervous but not aggressive with people and places. My foster mom is going to help me learn that my world is going to be filled with safe people and places.<br/><br/>Manny is looking for a fantastic active loving and patient home where he can blossom and grow into the great dog he was always meant to be!<br/><br/>With the right training he could be taken anywhere! An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home & truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption; discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, & 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.<br/><br/>Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 11 am - 2 pm at Apple Valley Petco (7590 150th St W, Apple Valley, MN 55124)<br/>Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play, or an active family who will make sure the dog gets the exercise it needs to be happy. Some dogs do not have the temperament that will do well with young children.<br/>The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills.
