Yes, but please keep in mind that they must be taught to respect the dog’s space, belongings, and food.
• HOUSEBROKEN? NOT 100% YET. As a dog rescued off the street and transitioning from living on indoor tile/ outdoor dirt surfaces in Mexico, they'll need time and patience to adjust to a new environment, but most of our dogs adapt to a potty routine within 1-2 weeks with consistent training.

🐾 Meet MAMBA 🐾

Mamba was found wandering the streets, thin and disoriented. She had no idea where she was or where she was going—just kept moving, searching for something she couldn't find. When rescuers finally caught up to her, she was sick—running a fever, vomiting, her body trying to survive on whatever scraps she'd managed to scavenge. And she was scared. So scared that when they reached for her, she went on the defensive, trying to protect herself the only way she knew how.

That's what happens when you've spent months, maybe years, on the streets. You learn that trust gets you hurt.

With medical care, the fever broke and the vomiting stopped. With regular meals, she started gaining weight, her ribs slowly disappearing under healthy muscle. And with patience—lots of patience—Mamba started to understand that not every hand reaching for her meant danger.

"She was so timid at first," her foster says. "But she warms up quickly now. Once she realizes you're safe, she's super affectionate and playful."

That's the thing about Mamba—she's got the best of both worlds. She's independent enough to entertain herself, to be okay when her people are busy, to not require constant attention. But she also absolutely loves company. She'll play with the other dogs in the house, and she'll seek out your company for quality time. She's also discovered the joy of sunbathing, stretching out in warm patches of light with her eyes closed and that adorable pug face completely relaxed.

At night, Mamba's favorite place is curled up in bed, snuggled close. After so long sleeping rough on the streets, she's making up for lost time with the comfort of soft blankets and human warmth.

"She's not destructive at all," her foster adds. "Just a really good, sweet dog."
Mamba is low-energy most of the time—happy to lounge around, nap, and just exist peacefully. She's also almost completely house-trained—about 90% there, just needs a bit more consistency and practice to nail it completely.

What Mamba needs is a patient home that can appreciate her balanced personality—independent but loving, calm but playful, cautious but willing to open her heart. She'd do great with other dogs for companionship, and she's good with cats too. An active family or a quieter household would both work, she's an easy dog that can adapt to many families.

After wandering lost and sick, after spending who knows how long just trying to survive, Mamba's ready for stability. For a bed that's always there. For meals that arrive on schedule. For people who'll let her be herself—fiercely loving once she trusts, and always, always grateful for the second chance.

Are you ready for a pug-mix with a soulful face and a heart that's slowly learning to love again—one sunny nap and bedtime cuddle at a time?

*************************

📝 Ready to apply?
