Nobody knows exactly how long I had been out there on my own, but its clear I had been through more than any dog ever should.<br/><br/>Despite my past, I havent let it harden my heart.<br/><br/>I am one of the most loyal, loving dogs youll ever meet. Once I know youre my person, I will be devoted to you with every ounce of my being. I absolutely adore my humans and crave affection, attention, and simply being close to the people I love. Whether youre relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or playing in the yard, Ill be right there by your side.<br/><br/>Im a little shy when meeting new people, but I warm up quickly once I realize Im safe. After that, my sweet and affectionate personality shines through.<br/><br/>I get along wonderfully with children, dogs, and even cats. Im gentle, respectful, and easygoing with everyone I meet. Im also nondestructive, well-mannered, and surprisingly quiet. In fact, there is only one thing that really gets under my skin: those strange robo vacuums. I dont trust them one bit.<br/><br/>One of my favorite things in the world is carrying around my stuffed toys. A good stuffie and a loving human are all I really need to be happy.<br/><br/>Right now, Im undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, but that hasnt stopped me from dreaming about my forever family. Because of my treatment, Im currently available for pre-adoption so that I can have a home waiting for me when Im medically cleared.<br/><br/>Ive survived heartbreak, loss, and uncertainty. Now Im ready for the chapter Ive always deserveda family of my own, a soft place to rest my head, and people who will love me as much as Ill love them.<br/><br/>Im Mia, and I cant wait to meet you.
