Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Nixa, MO

Note: Dogs are pack animals and do not do well away from other members of their pack. The adopter is the alpha member of the pack, and the dog or puppy needs as much one-on-one contact with the alpha as possible. For this reason, all Route 66 Rescue Inc. dogs are adopted to inside homes only. They must be on leash, or inside a secure fence when outside, and not left outside alone when no one is home. Invisible fencing does not qualify as protection since other animals and strangers have access to the dog. The dogs must be returned to Route 66 Rescue, Inc. if ever given up by the adopter. Ruby is a two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is a laid back girl. Her foster says, "Plays but not wild mostly. Will bark a little. Submissive for pets and such. Cannot/has not jumped ON my bed. But can jump off. Jumped on couch a few times. Likes chew toys. And stuffy toys. Very good house manners with doggy door. No aggression even around toys. Seems to find comfort in another dog. She would like a home with a family who has another dog. Ok for bath and blow dry. Ok for ear cleaning. Loves brushing.

Ruby's a lover. She is pure sweetness and very gentle with everyone. She has learned to jump up on a bed now. She's a very good girl, and a fenced yard is required for adoption, as she will startle and just take off!
