Malcolm's Story

Meet Malcolm, a sweetheart of a pup who is ready to find a home committed to helping him grow into his very best self. He’s a loving, social pup who enjoys spending time with his people and is especially eager to learn—thanks to his strong food motivation, training with Malcolm is both fun and rewarding.

While he does have that classic puppy energy, he truly shines when given structure, consistency, and clear guidance. Malcolm will thrive in a home that embraces positive reinforcement training and is excited to continue building his skills and confidence. Malcolm is currently working on impulse control and learning how to stay calm and engaged, especially in exciting environments. He benefits from routines that include structured activity sessions balanced with regular rest, as well as calming enrichment like snuffle mats, lick mats, and frozen Kongs.

Training goals for Malcolm include reinforcing “four on the floor,” practicing cues like sit, touch, and place, and incorporating pattern games and other structured activities to build patience and focus. He’s also learning loose leash walking through engagement-based “training walks” and benefits from counter-conditioning to help him feel more comfortable around other dogs.

Malcolm has done well with slow introductions and enjoys playful, similarly matched dog friends. With patience, consistency, and a commitment to his training plan, Malcolm is sure to blossom into a wonderful, well-mannered companion.
