She has spent her entire life in a very different environment and has never experienced living in a home, so there is a lot about being a family dog that she is still learning. She is not yet housebroken, and while she absolutely loves being around other dogs, she isn't accustomed to the attention, affection, and interaction that come with being someone's beloved companion.

Malaga is a sweet girl who needs someone willing to look beyond her initial shyness and see the beautiful dog she has the potential to become. She won't be an instant lap dog or the kind of dog who immediately runs into your arms. She needs time to observe, learn, and decide that her new people are safe.

Her adopter will need to be patient, gentle, and understanding. The first few weeks—or even months—may be about small victories. Learning to trust. Coming a little closer. Exploring a room. Accepting a gentle touch. Discovering that a soft bed is hers. These little moments are huge steps for a dog who has never known life inside a home.

Malaga will need another confident, friendly dog in the home to help show her the ropes. A canine companion can give her reassurance and help her understand this strange new world. She will also require a securely fenced yard for her safety while she learns how to navigate her new surroundings.

Think of Malaga as a beautiful swan who hasn't quite realized what she is capable of yet. She doesn't need someone to rush her transformation. She needs someone willing to patiently wait for the day she finally unfolds her wings.

And when that day comes, you will know you helped make it happen.

Malaga may need time to become the companion she was always meant to be, but with love, patience, and a safe place to call home, we believe there is a wonderful girl waiting to emerge.

She just needs someone willing to wait for her.

ADOPTION FEE: $750

To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION at fluffydog.net

Adopters must be 24 years of age.
