Meet Maize
Maize and her six puppies came to Circle of Hope when the other dog in their home kept attacking mama and stealing her babies. Maize is a black and white boxer about 2 years old.
Maize seems submissive around other dogs as long as her puppies are not around. She is still full of energy, and can do zoomies around the yard forever during playtime. She absolutely loves attention from people. She does seem to know the command SIT and is familiar with walking on a leash, but does pull when she sees something. During playtime she's been more interested in working off her energy than in the cat, but if a cat runs, the chase is ON.
Maize came to rescue very underweight. Her bowl is always filled, but she's still worried enough that she empties and hides her food just in case there isn't more coming. She is not food aggressive toward people at all, but may need to be watched when fed around other animals until she fully trusts that she will always have enough to eat.
