Maisie's Story
Sweet Maisie! She came into rescue when her owner moved and couldn't take her with them. Rescue is especially hard on dogs who previously had a loving home and suddenly their world is upended, such is the case for Maisie. She's a German Shepherd who is about three years old. She hasn't had much practice meeting new people and takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once she does, she is very loving. In her previous home she lived with cats, and dogs and did just fine. She's likely a candidate for a home without younger children, likely aged 10 and up, or a family without kids at all due to her being a little under-socialized with new people. She is both potty and crate trained, although we always expect a few accidents when in a new home. She is gentle, sweet, and loving once she lets her guard down. She's about 60 lbs and, unfortunately, our larger adult dogs over 50 lbs are not getting much interest these days. She's currently in AL but we hope to bring her to Maine so she can start her life with her forever family who will include her on their adventures and show her that family is forever.

If you think you might be interested in adopting Maisie or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters are placed on our email list for each transport and receive our Google slides that we send to all pre-approved adopters before posting on Petfinder and our social media and are eligible to attend our meet and greet events.
