He is 8 pounds of pure love. <br/><br/>FOSTER UPDATE: Maho has been with us for just a couple weeks and he is an absolute pleasure to have joining us! He has a way to earn your love immediately. His cute little face, his joyful spirit and his desire to snuggle up in your lap makes him a fan favorite among friends and neighbors who stop by. He loves people and other dogs and he doesn't ask for much in return. He will bark occasionally but he is typically very quiet. He never demands attention but he certainly prefers a human or canine companion nearby. Usually the only time that you will hear him is when he's left alone in the house, he won't bark but he'll whimper and call out. <br/><br/>He will stay outside by himself for a few minutes for potty time without making noises. We enjoy walking around the yard together, he does a great job staying close by, while still exploring all the smells in the area. He comes when called and is very treat motivated. He has 1 toy that he loves and he'll carry it around with him and you will often find him curled up with it at nap time. He has access to many more toys but he only likes that one. <br/><br/>Maho does great in the car and is ready to go where you go. We're working on walking on a leash but at just 8lbs and moderate energy levels, short walks are fine with him! I define moderate energy levels as he is willing and interested in walking at anytime; running and playing for short periods of time 1-2x/day; he's always willing to go outside or follow you anywhere but he can also be content as a couch potato! <br/><br/>Most people are surprised when I tell them his age, they'll guess that he's 3-5yrs old by his looks and activity level. Either way, he still has a lot of life left to enjoy! We're also working on steps, he has mastered everything except going down a flight of indoor steps. This has been great progress in just a couple weeks going from no steps to up/down 1-4 steps with no problem. <br/><br/>We've also made great progress on house training. He will potty outside and he will use a pee mat. We're still having about 0-1 accidents a day, so it won't be long before he masters that as well! We use a diaper when we leave the house for extended periods.
