Magnolia's Story

Oh, Magnolia! Magnolia came to CCHS as a stray in early November when she had been found in the Township of Levis. She was limping badly, so the Sheriff's Deputy took her to the East Valley Vet Clinic to get checked out. It was determined she had a broken foot, and was then brought to CCHS. Sadly no family came to reclaim Magnolia. With further study of the x-rays, our Vet determined that surgery or casting wasn't needed for her foot, as it was healing well. She only needed medication for pain and to reduce the swelling. Magnolila is now doing well with it and uses the foot just fine. Magnolia is a Mastiff mix about 5 years old and weighs 76#. She was underweight when she arrived at the Shelter, and has gradually been putting on a few pounds. Magnolia has had a difficult time adjusting to life at the Shelter, as all of the noises and smells can be quite overwhelming for a dog. She's a shy girl who will do best in a calm home where she won't be overwhelmed with activity. Most importantly, she needs to find a new family with lots and lots of patience and love to share with her. With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the dog.
