Hello there, Im Maggie May, a beautiful and brave survivor looking for my special human/family to love. <br/><br/>My foster mom says Im a 3 and a half year old, svelte, 27 pound, Bulldach (bulldog/dachshund mix). She also says Im quite intelligent, because I learn words &amp; obedience commands quickly. I adore my toys, even though Ive killed a few stuffed toys &amp; sock bottles. I especially enjoy challenging food reward toys, like my Toppl &amp; stuffed Extreme Kongs. I love working for my prize, affection, treats, meals &amp; belly rubs. I am always eager to please!<br/><br/>I love walks and Im a champ with heeling on my leash. I enjoy exploring the backyard, and plotting to catch sneaky squirrels. I like all women, girls, kind men, boys &amp; other dogs. I love to follow and play with other dogs. My foster mom says I do it respectfully and only if they want to. Im also a great watch dog when necessary. I will alert you to strange people or noises outside, but Quiet quickly. <br/><br/>Last winter &#34;my human abandoned me while pregnant. I was left to fend for myself after they moved out of their apartment and left me behind. I sought shelter from the freezing cold under the nearby sheds, scavenged around apartments for food and water. My 9 pups were born under a shed in mid January 2023. When a gardener heard their whimpers, a small group of kind gardeners gained my trust &amp; helped us all survive. My beautiful pups have all been adopted, and I hope soon it will be my turn. <br/><br/>Im currently heartworm positive and on slow kill treatment, which will be covered by the rescue until I test negative. Im crate, tether trained, and potty trained. I quickly learned to go in and out of the doggy door! I am calm and relaxed when riding in the backseat of a car. <br/><br/>If you&#39;d like to meet me or even better, adopt me!
