I was told they were saved from being killed by a hunting preserve. The whole story is rather vague and I heard there were actually 4 dogs. Maggie is a sweet, affectionate Pointer about 5-7 years old. She's been bred A LOT, and is a typically loving dog with people. She came to us with a lot of bit wounds but she is healing well. While her first tick panel was negative, Maggie was anemic and that is a symptom of possible Lyme disease. Thankfully our vet supports treating her just in case titers for infection just haven't shown up.

Maggie needs a home with at least a 5 foot fenced in yard. We have no idea about her hunting skills so we are only looking for a pet home at this time. We are hopeful to find a new loving home for Maggie soon- she certainly deserves it!!

If you would like to help, please copy and paste this link into your browser: http://illinoisbirddogrescue.org/foster_app.html to submit a foster to adopt home application.
If you interested in adoption, please copy and paste this link into your browser: http://illinoisbirddogrescue.org/adoption_procedure.html to submit an adoption application.
