Maggie's Story
Available for Adoption!

Maggie is a very snuggly, playful 4yr old little Yorkie! She came to us very shy and scared (and matted), but is now very much in charge of her yard and house! When she's not playing with her toys or sleeping cuddled up in her foster mom's lap, she's enjoying her walks and chasing any squirrel or bird that comes into the backyard!

She's very calm and curious around cats but doesn't seem to care much for big dogs. She has been OK with dogs her size but she would do great in a household where she's the only dog. She continues to be very shy around most people, but has bonded closely with the foster parents. She can get a little protective of her foster mom when people come in the home, and will bark, but she did well at our adoption event in a crowded store with lots of people around. With time and attention, she'll bond very closely to her forever family!

Since Maggie arrived here she has had three episodes of minor seizures, one a month. She became uncoordinated, exhibited some body stiffness and eye fluttering. The episodes lasted about 2-3 minutes and then she was fine. The vet has started her on medication. Since she has only had one episode a month and they were minor episodes, the correct dose of medication will probably prevent the seizures, but she will probably need to be on the meds for life.

Maggie is UTD on vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped.
