Maggie's Story
Maggie's stunning blue eyes are the first thing everyone notices. But spend a few minutes with her and you quickly realize there is so much more behind them. She is always thinking, always observing, quietly taking in the world around her.

Knowing Maggie today, it is not surprising that after being abandoned with two other dogs at a remote gas station in the Mojave Desert, she not only survived on her own for weeks but then managed to evade rescuers for another three. She had learned that trusting people could be dangerous, and understandably, she wasn't ready to take that chance again.

Now safely settled in her foster home, Maggie's trust is growing by the day. While she is still timid when meeting new people, watching her confidence grow has been one of the greatest joys for her foster mom.

One of Maggie's favorite things is going for walks. She walks beautifully on leash and loves exploring the neighborhood. She has the heart of an adventurer, always curious about what's around the next corner. Because of that adventurous spirit though, she will need a person or family that is able to be very mindful and careful with doors, gates, and new environments while she continues building her confidence. She should never have the opportunity to slip away and head off on an adventure by herself.

Maggie is currently living in foster care with Stewie, one of the dogs who was abandoned alongside her (be sure to read Stewie's profile too). Having another friendly dog in her future home would likely help her continue to blossom, although we also believe she could thrive as the only dog with a patient person or family.

Maggie is approximately 3 years old, 38 lbs, spayed, fully vaccinated, chipped.

To inquire about her or schedule a time to meet her, please email julia@adogsliferescue.org or call/text 310-344-7366

You can also fill out application with Blue Man Dog and it will be forwarded to Julia and she will get back to you
(copy and paste link): https://bluemandog.org/adoption-application/
