Maggie's Story

COURTESY POST

Introducing Sweet Maggie!! This beautiful girl has been through a lot in her short life. She lived in a van on Skid Row along with 16 other dogs and was the Mama of 12 puppies. Sadly, most of the puppies died of Parvo. Those who did not pass were rescued without saving Mama Maggie, too. Despite unimaginable emotional trauma Maggie radiates the sweetest, most loving and soulful energy. Her charisma is irresistible!

Maggie is affectionate and loving. She is wonderful with people, loves to be close and enjoys attention and petting. She is super playful, loves running in the yard, chasing a ball, and does not mind sharing her toys with her companion foster dogs, Lainey and Chester. She tires pretty quickly then enjoys chilling by your side.

Maggie is smart, food motivated and takes treats gently. She knows her “sit” and “down” commands and is eager to please and learn more. Will benefit from leash training and use of a Balance Harness or comparable to help curb pulling. She is curious about everything, loves to explore and will need a good, strong handler.

Maggie gets along well with Chester and Lainey, her foster buddies, however, will need slow managed introductions to other large dogs to ensure success in a new home / environment.

We suspect that Maggie is Dobie/Rottie mix and she definitely has some of those Dobie genes. This girl is VELCRO! Maggie is anxiously awaiting a forever home and for new and wonderful life adventures to begin.

1-2 years old
75 pounds

*Foster To Adopt* an option
