Maggie's Story
Meet Maggie — one of the most special souls at our sanctuary.
Maggie’s story is tender and profound. Her previous owner battled cancer, and Maggie stayed by her side on the bed, offering love and comfort until the very end. After her passing, her sister stepped in to care for Maggie but knew she couldn’t give Maggie the time, attention, and devotion her sister would have wanted for her. That’s how Maggie came to us.
Maggie has only one eye, and she’s about 85% blind in that eye. She can see shadows and shapes, but she needs a home where she’ll be gently guided, kept safe, and never left alone for long. Because of her vision, she doesn’t feel confident walking on leash — she’ll try her best, but she may prefer being carried or walking closely beside her person.
What makes Maggie truly special is her heart. She is one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs at the sanctuary. She wants nothing more than to be with her human — to rest beside them, follow them, and be part of their quiet moments. A calm, peaceful home where she can feel secure and deeply loved is exactly what she deserves.
Maggie also has a funny little quirk: she will not drink from a regular water bowl. She insists on a small automatic fountain so she can hear and find her water easily. We’ll happily show you the exact one she uses.
Maggie is a Cavalier King Charles (or a Cavalier mix), and besides her limited eyesight, she is perfectly healthy and ready for her next chapter. She’s looking for a patient, compassionate person who will cherish her and help her begin a new life filled with comfort, kindness, and unwavering love.
Thank you for taking the time to meet Maggie — she is truly one of a kind.
weighs 20 pounds and her adoption fee is $240, it includes registration of my microchip, a sample of my food, new leash/collar and toy & treat packet. I am spayed and vaccinated.
