Maddie's Story

Maddie is a beautiful Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a bright smile, soulful eyes, and a heart full of loyalty just waiting to be shared with the right person. This medium-to-large girl is searching for a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and truly understood. From the moment she knows she can trust you, Maddie becomes an affectionate companion who loves being close to her people and forming deep bonds.

Maddie enjoys an active lifestyle and would thrive with daily walks, games of fetch, and plenty of mental enrichment. She absolutely loves tennis balls, rope toys, squeaky toys, frisbees, and interactive games that let her show off her playful side. After a fun day of exploring and sniffing around outside in her yard, she’s happiest curled up on the couch, stretched across a cozy pile of laundry, or relaxing in her crate with her favorite humans nearby. One of Maddie’s adorable quirks is her habit of carrying toys around proudly like little trophies while giving her signature smile.

She responds well to positive reinforcement, and enjoys treats like peanut butter snacks, cheese cubes, chicken pieces, and jerky treats. Maddie can be shy with strangers and may take a little time to warm up, especially with men, but patience and consistency help her feel secure. Because she prefers having her people all to herself, Maddie must be the only pet in the home and would do best with an experienced adopter who understands dogs that are uncomfortable around other animals.

We believe Maddie’s future is full of love, adventure, and second chances. If you are looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and a playful spirit, Maddie may be the perfect match for you. Come meet her and see if she’s the missing piece your family has been waiting for.

For more information on how to adopt, please call the shelter at 863 324 5227 to see if this pet is still available for adoption. Then come to the shelter for a meet and greet.
We are open 10:30 to 6 Tuesday through Friday and 10:30 to 4 on Saturday closed 1-2 for lunch and the last Friday of every month.
