Hes the kind of dog who takes a little time to figure people out, but when he trusts you, hes all in. Mackey is loving, affectionate, and loyal. He enjoys being close to his person and will happily soak up attention once that bond is built.<br/><br/>Mackey has been in care for some time now and has made great progress. Along the way, weve learned he has allergies (including seasonal), so he does best on a special diet. A raw diet would be ideal, but hes currently doing well on kibble.<br/><br/>Hes fully crate trained and very clean in the house, though he would much rather have the freedom to relax in his favourite spot or spend time outdoorswhich he absolutely loves, rain or shine.<br/><br/>Mackey is an active, playful guy who enjoys running, chasing toys, and playing with other dogs. He does best with dogs his size or largerhe can be a bit rough for small dogs and prefers companions who arent too bossy (he likes to think hes in charge!).<br/><br/>On walks, Mac is strong and can pull, so hell need someone willing to continue working with him on leash manners. He also isnt a fan of things like the vacuum or broom, so hes happiest when he can step away during those moments.<br/><br/>Mackey is generally friendly with people, but like many dogs, he may take a dislike to the occasional person, so its important to read his cues and advocate for him. He can also be a bit jealous and would thrive with someone who wants a close, one-on-one bond.<br/><br/>Hes not a big fan of vet visits and will need a patient, understanding approach when it comes to care.<br/><br/>Mackey loves car rides, being outside, and just being part of your world. Hes come a long way and continues to grow every daybut he needs someone patient, kind, and willing to give him the time he needs to fully trust.<br/><br/>Mackey has been neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date.
