Mack's Story
Mack is a very shy boy who arrived in Maine from SC, where he had been left tied to a tree, with another dog, after hours at a rural shelter. Shy dogs do not show well, especially in a shelter environment, so he headed north to see if WMGPR could work with him and get him a little more comfortable around people. He is a sweet, smart boy who would benefit from a patient adopter who understands that this involves alot of little steps on Mack's part, and is willing to let him proceed at his pace. He would do well living with a chill, people friendly girl dog who would set a good example for him. At this point, he seems to be afraid of male dogs, but we will continue to work with him on that. He is not a barker, is clean in his kennel, doesn't dig, and enjoys walking on trails and paths not on busy road. HE is good with the horse and chickens here, and is fine with the barn cat. He rides well and gets in the car on his own. What he needs most of all is an adopter with PATIENCE to let him come along at his own speed.
