Mack, 1 year old, male, Akbash/Pyrenees

Mack is GENTLE GIANT! He is a total ding dong and has a hilarious personality. He was involved in a domestic abuse case in Riverton, WY and was brought to the shelter. He finished their training program and was brought to us to find a home here in the Tetons! Akbash/Pyrenees have big personalities and we want all his adopters to do their research on the breed before falling in love with him for his looks!

A note from his foster:

"Hello Friend!
My name is Mack and I am looking for my own fur-ever home! Although I had a rough first year—my first family couldn’t provide me a safe and happy place to live—I’m full of love and play well with puppies, small dogs, cats, and even doggies my own size!
People paws-itively fall in love with me once they see my beautiful mane of white fur, but there’s more to me than just my looks.
Although I’m a big boy, I’m a cuddler and would love it if you’d let me sit in your lap! One of my favorite ways to spend the day is next to my person—I want to be close in case you’re looking for a belly to rub or a head to scratch. I also love crawling into bed with you for nighttime snuggles.
Everyone who meets me tells me I’m REALLY smart. I passed my training program in Riverton, WY, and If you ask me nicely—and have the right treats—I’ll show you how I can sit, lay down, and even shake hands!

Having a big personality is one of my best traits, but my future home needs to understand my breed (Akabash/Pyrenees) can be very independent and need plenty of room to explore. I’m looking for someone to be my best friend for life and teach me how to be the greatest Pyrenees I can be! If you make sure to set some time aside for us to learn together, I know we’ll have the most amazing times exploring the Tetons!"

Please note, Animal Adoption Center cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the rescue. We make every effort to ensure the dogs are healthy.

Please know that our intention is to insure long lasting committed homes for the animals at the AAC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit we reserve the right to refuse adoption.
