Macaroni's Story

Meet Macaroni

This handsome young adult boy is a 30-pound Blue Heeler type dog who's still figuring out the world around him. While he may not have had many opportunities to build confidence or social skills in his early life, he's making steady progress every day and showing just how much potential he has.

Thoughtful and observant, he prefers to take his time getting to know new people, dogs, and situations. He can be a little unsure around other dogs and may feel uncomfortable in busy or overwhelming environments, but with patience and gentle guidance, he's gradually becoming more confident and relaxed.

His ideal home will be with an owner who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. He thrives with a calm, predictable routine and positive reinforcement, and he will benefit from continued exposure to new experiences at a pace that feels safe for him. As his confidence grows, so does his curiosity and willingness to engage with the world.

This sweet boy is looking for someone who will celebrate the small victories, provide consistent support, and help him continue developing into the confident companion he's meant to be. Four Feet & a Heart Beat's Adoption Policy
At Four Feet and a Heartbeat, our goal is to ensure every dog is placed in a safe, loving, and well-matched home. As a no-kill dog rescue based in Lacombe, Alberta and serving Western Canada, we take responsible placement seriously—without making the process overly complicated. Before reaching out, please review the following policies: - Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. - We adopt primarily to Alberta and neighboring provinces, though out-of-province adoptions may be possible if transportation is arranged and paid for by the adopter. - A pet-safe home is required. Some dogs may need 6-foot fencing based on observed behavior (e.g. climbing, prey drive, etc). - Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated (5-way, Rabies, and Kennel Cough). - We do not adopt dogs for breeding, resale, or as gifts. - Adoption fees vary by dog and help cover food, shelter medical care and ongoing support. We rely on self-selection to help identify the right matches and ask that prospective adopters review the adoption agreement and dog bios before contacting us.
