Mable's special needs:
*Mable is a tripod (back leg amputated)
*likes men and women

Mable was surrendered to Fairy Tails due to an injury she sustained resulting in her rear leg amputation. Her owners could not afford the care, and made the responsible decision to surrender her so she could get the treatment she needed. Although she only has 3 legs, that does not slow her down. She still loves to run, and sniff around, especially outside. She’s great with the dog respectful toddler in her foster home. She is food and toy protective with other animals, but has no issues with people. She does fine with her foster person sticking her hand in the dish while eating or taking the bowl away. Mable has stolen snacks out of the toddler's hand, but has not hurt the child. When taking treats she needs to be reminded to be "easy", but takes treats okay from even the toddler with this command. She doesn’t bother the cats in every day living, but does not like them near her food bowl or sharing her toys with them. She has not made any contact with the cats, but will chase them off from her bowl area or toys they are playing with. She is NOT "aggressive" towards dogs. But with her breed being in the hound family, she has a more assertive and pushy personality. Due to her strong personality and food/toy protectiveness, we are recommending Mable to be the only dog in the home.
In rescue we do keep all of our pets on leash or in a fenced in yard. Mable does seem to have a strong come when called, but she also seems to have a hound like nose that may get the best of her. Although Mable only has 3 legs, she does still need activity due to her breed to prevent her from getting bored and starting bad behavior. She loves her daily walks, and even enjoys running in her foster home. She also loves to cuddle up on the couch with you, and often greats you with a smile!
