She joined our organization after being rescued from a puppy mill, where she spent her entire life confined in a loft within a barn. Unfortunately, she was never afforded the opportunity to engage in the typical activities that family dogs usually enjoy. Despite her challenging beginnings, Mabel has shown remarkable progress.<br/><br/>Mabel requires a unique and understanding home that is willing to address her fears and facilitate her journey toward building confidence. She is presently receiving medication for anxiety, which is a direct result of her difficult early experiences.<br/><br/>Mabel underwent surgery for a luxating patella in her left rear leg, and her condition has significantly improved. She exhibits compatibility with cats and tends to be submissive toward other dogs.<br/><br/>Mabel would thrive in an environment that includes a calm and confident canine companion. It is also essential for her new home to have someone present most of the time, as she exhibits some signs of separation anxiety. Additionally, a household without children under the age of 16 would be ideal, as active young children may cause her to become fearful.<br/><br/>Mabel is well-behaved during car rides and rarely barks. Her house training is still a work in progress, but with patience and consistency, improvement can be expected.<br/><br/>Mabel has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and additionally, she has been on monthly preventatives.
