Luther is a handsome 2-year-old Doberman weighing about 75 pounds, and he truly is the total package. He quickly becomes everyone’s best friend and loves being part of the family. Luther adores attention, pets, and simply being near his people. Whether you’re moving around the house or relaxing for the evening, he will happily follow along as your loyal shadow — while still being independent enough to stretch out on the couch and enjoy his quiet time too.<br/><br/>Luther loves the outdoors and enjoys running, sniffing around the yard, and exploring the neighborhood on his two daily walks. Like many young Dobermans, he can get excited and try to set the pace at first, but he responds very well to gentle correction and settles nicely when reminded.<br/><br/>He is an intelligent dog who enjoys mental stimulation and learning new things. Frozen treat puzzles, enrichment activities, and practicing commands are some of his favorite ways to stay busy and engaged. Luther wants to please and continues learning every day.<br/><br/>Inside the home, Luther has been wonderful. He has not had any accidents and does great with a regular potty schedule every few hours. He can also be trusted free roaming the house when left alone and has been very respectful in the home environment. Luther is still learning to feel fully comfortable in the crate. He may cry briefly after going in, but settles quickly and sleeps peacefully afterward.<br/><br/>Luther can get excited when greeting people and is still working on remembering to keep all four paws on the floor, but his affectionate personality and eagerness to learn make him a joy to be around.<br/><br/>More than anything, Luther is looking for a forever family to love wholeheartedly — a home where he can cuddle close, explore beside you, and grow old surrounded by the people he loves most.<br/><br/><br/>If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements.
