Luna T's Story

Hi, I’m Luna!

I’m a big, lovable goofball with a heart as huge as my paws! If you walk through the door, expect me to greet you with an excited bark and my signature standing hug—I just can’t help myself! I adore my humans so much that when they come home, I get so happy I cry and bounce around like a kangaroo. I do bark at visitors when they enter the home, but I quickly welcome them and enjoy being petted.

Food? Oh, I love it! I’m not picky at all, but don’t worry—I have good manners and won’t beg for people food. Toys and bones? Yes, please! I love them too, though I prefer to keep them all to myself when my foster brother is around (a girl’s gotta have her treasures, right?).

I have the perfect balance of energy and relaxation. Walks are my jam—I get excited and might bark at a passing truck, but I’m working on it. And when playtime is over? I’m all about snuggling. I’ll happily curl up on a dog bed, the couch, or even better—your lap (who cares if I’m a bit too big for that?). If you sit down, I might just crawl on top of you, nuzzle in, and drift off to sleep. My foster parents say I’m a big couch potato with sweet puppy dog eyes.

I know my basic commands like sit, shake, and heel, and I’m doing great on a leash. I’m house-trained, I use the doggy door, and I don’t chew on things I shouldn’t. Oh, and furniture? Yeah, I’m allowed on it, and I take full advantage!

One of my silliest habits? Chasing my own curly-Q tail! It makes my foster family laugh every time. Zoomies? I do those too! I’m just a happy, affectionate pup looking for my forever home where I can give all my love (and standing hugs) to my favorite people. Could that be you?

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta's Adoption Policy
Great Pyrenees are the southeasts best kept secret. We are a magnificent and majestic breed that is one of the best dogs a family can own - we really are. We are gentle giants loved by all because we combine two characteristics that are hard to beat. First, we are terrific family pets. We are lovable and gentle with children - we love them even when they treat us like massive fluff balls! Second, and where we differ from most house pets, we are protectors. I tend to be the witty observer but my big brother Jenkins is a typical Great Pyrenees and he is amazing as he patrols our property watching for anything unusual. He takes his job very seriously. Great Pyrenees were bred as working dogs and our "job" in the home is to protect our "family". We have regular adoption days - usually every other Saturday from 11am until 1 pm at the Perimeter Petsmart in Atlanta, GA visit our website to see current adoption days

Our Mission
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neuter...
